About This Game Pixel Survivors is a real time strategy - management game. Create some land and help your initial villagers to survive during the first period of time.Build houses for hosting your citizens, create chicken pens and farms to feed them.Elevate forges and tailors to keep the population well dressed and with the necessary tools for working.Contruct mines and foresting towers to get new resources once the surface has been wiped.Improve the efficiency of your work by adding windmills and sawmills. Nice little game.And the price is nice too. This could be interesting, but I really have no clue what I'm doing here. Too many options, too little intro/tutorial/help (there isn't any). My village keeps dying. For example: It's not clear how chickens work; I assumed I should keep them around, and butcher them when I need more food or when there's too many, but apparently I should just butcher them all at once? And setting a level determines how fast they're killed, not how many to keep?. Difficult and without any real purpose. The only time this game would be fun is while you are learning how to play it, and unfortunately that part of the game is ruined by awkward controls and a lack of information.. waste of money. I can't think of a more simplistic game, from the graphics to the limited options you have in it. Yet it's still super entertaining to play this and watch your little civilization grow. The devs are working hard to fix every bug and performance issue and boy, do they deliver good results with every patch! My positive review goes for this game because of the hard work they are puting into it, making this more and more fun with every update.. Survivors is a game that I recommend because:- is a method to banish boredom- have a good price- have trading cards- is a indie gameEnjoy!. I'll start off by saying that I am glad I only spent $1 on this game. It's not that the game is bad, but it's also not good. As it sits, the game is a nice little time waster. There is still plenty of work to be done, but the developer(s) seem to be very involved in the game and listen to the community. In fact, when I first started playing the game there were a few serious bugs that were fixed within 15-20 minutes after someone posted about them on the forums.In the game you create tiles of land that each generate a random basic resource: Stone, Lumber, and Food. Your only limit to creating more land is your mana; which is currently disabled, so you have an infinite amount of mana to work with for the time being. You start off the game with two villagers who spawn on one of the tiles you place. The villagers than gather these resources and you put down plots for buildings which the villagers than build. However, the erratic movement of your villagers reminds me of the ball from 'Pong'. They bounce around the map, collecting the resources they happen to pass through, and only work on a building if they touch it. So having a small map in the beginning means your villagers will actually do the tasks you want them to do, but also give you access to less resources. There is also a feature called Aura which allows you to direct your villagers to a single point at the cost of some mana. It can be frustrating at time to use and when mana is turned back on you'll end up spending more mana on moving your villagers around than on expanding the map.And even if you do everything correctly, be prepared for your villagers to die frequently. I've built houses for my villagers, farms so they can have food, and a tailor shop so they can have warm clothes; yet my villagers always seem to freeze and starve to death. The penalty for a villager dying is a good idea on paper, but it doesn't seem to work out very well in practice. Whenever a villager dies the number of zombies goes up by one. At night, that many zombies will spawn in and attack your villagers. The reason that it doesn't work out to well, is because the zombies move just as erratically as your villagers and they end up walking right past one another. Once the sun rises, the remaining zombies disapear and the number resets to zero.Would I recommend this game? If it were still $1 and someone I knew was really interested in it, I would recommend it. But that's not the case; there is plenty of potential and the game can only get better. As it sits right now, I would not recommend it. I'll continue to play it from time to time, especially when new updates come out for it. UPDATE 0.54 - GUI REVAMP!: Well guys, today we are releasing the 0.54 Update. THE GUI REVAMP! Added several buttons inside the GUI. Changed the resources's font. Animated Tom. The tutorial Guide. Changed all the GUI textures and pixel art. Polished the tutorial.Now I'll get back to grinding that AI scripts!And hopefully start working on the languages translations. UPDATE: 0.38 - Winter is coming!: Added new structure - The tailor shop: Here villagers will turn the fabric into cloth if they are lacking a new pair of pants. =DAdded new structure - The chaman's hut: Here villagers will heal his wounds if they are hurt because of freezing, starvation or the undead. Requires medicinal herbs.Added new structure - Medicinal herb plantation: Like any other crop, it requires seeds to work properly. These medicinal herbs will be used in the chaman's huts for healing the citizensAdded clothing system: Each citizen will have 2 sets of cloth. As they use them, they will start to worn. On winter they will break them out faster. Build them a tailor shop before they freeze to death. As long as there is fabric, citizens will keep producing cloth. Create several tailor's shop, so when they run out of cloth, there is a close shop nearby.Added seasons(Winter and Summer): Now your citizens will have to deal with the environment. During the winter, conditions of life will be harder. UPDATE 0.73 - STRUCTURES, STRUCTURES AND MORE STRUCTURES!: Well guys, it has been a couple weeks since our last beta patch, and finally we've got it working.Plenty of new structures were added to the game, as well as general bug fixing and polishment to the beta build.The beta testers are doing a great job so far finding bugs and helping us solve them. We will keep on realising unique content for the testers, as time goes by.Without further rambling here is what we've added for the new Update:NEW STRUCTURE: Church. Will rise the Mana capacity by 100, boost the mana regain and defend the village of the undead on the red perimeter. Requires learning Ocultism I.NEW STRUCTURE: Flooding Tank. Will flood a small pond where villager will be able to grow and harvest new types of crops. Requires learning Agriculture II.NEW CROP: Rice.
